| The LVLs are in place and the temporary walls have been removed. Once the 3 LVLs were positioned, numerous carriage bolts were installed to tie them together. We jacked up the center of the LVL before installing the bolts. When the jack was removed it sagged only about 1/16" (1.6mm) - not bad for a load-bearing span of about 18' (~5.5m). The pile of lumber in front of the window is the temporary walls (they were screwed together for easy disassembly). |
