We decided to remove the kitchen and dining room ceilings ... or as Andrew would say, we did a "ceiling delete". Many years ago (probably the late 90s), my Dad painted the ceiling. Popcorn on a painted ceiling is much more of a challenge to remove than unpainted popcorn. Because we have removed all or part of 3 walls in these 2 rooms, many circuits were exposed because their wall is gone. Running electicity to ceiling fixtures would be very challenging with an intact ceiling ... but it's a piece of cake without a ceiling in the way! We are planning to install some can lights in the kitchen and reinstall the ceiling fan/light in the dining room. The ceiling fan has had no power since removing the wall between the dining room and the old office. |
